Katherine as been active in governmental facilities management since 1983.  She is currently responsible for over 800,000 square feet of government office space and manages the facilities unit for her agency.

Katherine is also active in the International Facility Management Association.  She is the founder and current president of the South Puget Sound Chapter of that organization. She has taught in the Facility Management Certificate Program at the University of Washington since 1995.  During her career she has been responsible for strategic planning, operating and capital budget development, program development, space planning to include staff consolidation/relocation into a new 409,000 s.f. facility, development of space guidelines, and development and implementation of a quality of space assessment process.

Zak has been involved in Facilities operations since 2001 and an IFMA member since 2007.  Zak holds an AAS from Pierce College and is a 2000 graduate of Western Washington University with a BA in Planning and Environmental Policy.  He began his Facilities career in 2001 at the Department of Licensing and currently serves as a Facilities Planner for the Washington State Employment Security Department’s Office Services.  Zak helps maintain design integrity, building operations, sustainable practices and leasing functions of the agency throughout the state and most notably in the South Sound Headquarter and Olympic Peninsula regions.

Myrna has over twenty-five years of proven progressive management and facilities experience within private, not for profit organizations, as well as government and municipal agencies in the fields of real property and facility management and operations. She has a passion for enhancing employee involvement and for community empowerment.

She is currently responsible for the management and operation of approximately 203,000 square feet of resident retirement homes on a 23 acre campus.  Residents homes include independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing and a memory care unit.  My division areas of responsibility are: maintenance services; housekeeping services; laundry services; transportation services; floor care services; grounds maintenance; and security services. 

Myrna hold professional certification through the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) as a Certified Facility Manager (CFM) and through the University of Washington Extension Program, she graduated from the Certificate Program in Facilities Management in 1997.
